[JDPUB: 164] new book: DRAKIE STORIES by Christian 'Bunny' Ashley-Botha

JUST DONE PRODUCTIONS has published

DRAKIE STORIES by Christian ‘Bunny’ Ashley-Botha R160

Drakie Stories is an entertaining account of events – some serious, some humorous - that took place during the author’s near 27 years as Director of Music at the internationally acclaimed Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School (DBCS).

The anecdotes deliver a unique insight into preparations for and the intensity of touring the world, while also highlighting some important concerts and featuring cameos of various characters - boys and staff – resident at this prestigious institution during the author’s tenure.

For anyone who has passed through the DBCS’s ranks or been spellbound by ‘South Africa’s Singing Ambassadors’ in full voice – at a performance abroad or an iconic ‘Music in the Mountains’ showpiece –Drakie Stories is a delight not to be missed! The book will be of special significance to any past pupil.

‘Bunny’ was appointed Director of Music at the DBCS in 1981. He nurtured and guided many world-class singers and choirmasters. He was awarded the national honours – The Order of Ikhamanga – by President Mbeki for his “Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Choral Music in South Africa” in 2006.
