We at Just Done Productions - Publishing would like to announce that we have released a local (South African) version of "How I Won the War: Personal Accounts of World War II". This book has been available for some time via Lulu but we have completely revamped the layout of the book and made it available for South African customers. | |
This book tells the story of four South African brothers who, each in their own way, was involved in the Second World War. One is a tanker, another a gunner. One is a pilot who won the DFC and was later tragically killed. This "memoire" is well written and makes for a great read! |
We have updated the book "Africa will always break your heart" to correct some factual errors and to comply with copyright agreements. It was missing from the site while we were seeking permission to use some newspaper articles, but it is back again now.
This book by Gerrie Hugo has generated a storm of controversy, but the criticism of the book has come primarily from those who have not read it. A number of people who have actually read the book have commented that it is a delight to read and that the author writes speaks with an authentic voice about the situations and times that he experienced. This book is well worth a read, even if only so that you can make your own mind up about the content.
We have just added two new books to the site that we have received permission to print locally under the Creative Commons License. The first of these books, "Wireless Networking in the Developing World" (A Practical Guide to planning and Building low-cost telecommunications infrastructure) deals with the technicalities of how one can build a wireless network with cheap and readily available technology. The second, "VoIP-4D Primer" (Building Voice Infrastructure in Developing Regions) takes this a step further and introduces you to the concepts and tools needed to build a voice communication system over your local network. Both of these books are truly excellent in the way that they both introduce you to the basic technologies of their respective subject matter, as well as guide you to further resources for more complex configurations. |
Please visit our website at http://www.justdone.co.za/ to buy these and other great books.
